Midlands Conference on Smarter Working

Smarter Working – Sharing the Experience

Technology has an important role to play in facilitating smarter working practices. The latest advances in mobile technology and the continuing widespread growth in the adoption of broadband are enabling these practices to be implemented, but, smarter working is not just about technology: it is also about changing culture, changing the way people work and giving them the skills to work smarter.

As part of the 2009 TravelWise Campaign, businesses and organisations are invited from across the region to a free one day conference to show how smarter working practices are set to become a major factor in the lives of businesses and their employees in helping to combat congestion and climate change.

The ‘business’ benefits of traveling smartly will be demonstrated in the sessions and workshops and delegates will be able to share best practice from the region.

This free conference is for you if your business:

• Is considering or working towards becoming carbon neutral

• Reducing business travel

• Is struggling to keep/recruit staff due to transport issues

• Wants to develop a travel plan to facilitate staff travel and transport issues

• Learn about potential savings available to businesses by alternative methods

• Be a smarter business

• Wants to improve its environmental image, is looking to or is developing an Environmental Management System

The conference is on Friday 23rd October at Maple House, 150 Corporation Street, Birmingham B4 6TB. Find out more and book via travelwise@dudley.gov.uk
