Book Review: One Dog and His Boy by Eva Ibbotson
I once read a blog by a mum on Mumsnet. She wrote about reading a book to her children, the Story of Green Knowe. I despaired of finding a book that I could read to my 9 year old daughter and my 5 year old son, but I think I may have found it in One Dog and His Boy.
This book brings together classic elements from children’s stories. Hal is a child who has rich parents but lacks love. In his adventures he meets a strong minded fellow adventurer. Together they undertake an epic journey, encountering a circus, an orphanage and monks on the way!
This book reminded me of classics by Noel Streatfeild and 101 Dalmatians. A great book for kids, I’ll be looking for more by Eva Ibbotson.
