We’ve interviewed Jane Hopkins from MumsClub who is promoting the upcoming Business And Baby Show which happens on Saturday 1 October, in Solihull. The Show has a brilliant competition for any mum who has her own business to win a stand at the Show, and meet the 2,000 visitors who will come through the doors of Cranmore Park at Solihull, West Midlands, at 11am. We asked Jane all about it:

What’s the prize?
It’s to win a stand, for you to sell your products or services, in Mumpreneur Alley, at The Business and Baby Show. We’ve got 20 stands to give away and it’s really easy to enter: keep reading for all the info….

Hang on, why are you giving the stands away? What’s the catch?
Originally, we wanted to sell all the stands, but to be honest, we’ve not had the time to do it, and we were thinking of ditching the idea. But then we’ve decided that actually, it’s very much in the spirit of Mums Club to do it anyway, and still provide the facility for all our visitors, so we have decided to crack on with it for you all despite the fact that it won’t generate income for us!

Who is allowed to enter into the competition?
It’s for people who want to sell their products and services to the visitors – phoenix cards, homemade nappy cakes, games, baby shows, accountancy, stationery suppliers – anything and everything that families or mums with businesses might want to use or buy is fine with us. This is not available to people who want to sell, franchise or license their businesses on the day. So for example, if you wanted to sell a branch of a swimming company, a post natal exercise class or anything similar, then this isn’t for you. This is for mums with small businesses who want to sell their services and products to the 2,000 people they are going to meet on Saturday 1 October 2011.

How do I enter?
All we want you to do, is comment below the blog on The Business and Baby Show with a maximum of 150 words on your business, who you are and why you want to win.

When does the competition end?
Wednesday 21 September at 12 noon.

When are the winners announced?
Thursday 22 September, by 12 noon, on this blog

Any small print?
Yes, our decision is final, and cannot be contested.
You cannot swap, offer or share your stand with someone else.
If you do not attend on the day, for any reason, you will be billed for £100 for the inconvienience of our having to arrange things around you. This isn’t something we want to do, but we don’t want people to miss out because someone has a last minute problem. You’ll be billed and will have to pay within 14 working days. We hope that we don’t have to bill anyone and that everyone turns up!!

The Event:

Mumpreneur UK has been scouring the country finding the best potential new businesses run by a mum in the UK.   The Mumpreneur Idol event will be where our four finalists will battle it out to become the next big Mumpreneur.

This year, I’m writing a ‘fun journal’. I don’t always find it easy to find time for fun, in between running businesses, home and kids. I think often I focus too much on getting things done and don’t stop to have fun. So, this year I want to see more funny films, watch old TV shows like Blackadder and Red Dwarf, and go out to some comedy clubs. I reckon it I make a conscious effort to spend more of my spare time laughing it will be great for me, and for the family.

I’m also be entering a competition to win the chance to see Dara O’Briain, Jack Whitehall and Jon Richardson in a very unusual gig. On Saturday 12^th March,  the comedians will be teaming up with BA, Guinness World Records. They will be setting the record for the ‘Highest Stand-Up Comedy Gig in the World’ . It’s part of a wider campaign by British Airways called Flying Start, hoping to transform the lives of disadvantaged children at home and abroad.
