The number of mothers working full-time has increased from less than a quarter to almost a third over the past 15 years, new figures show.
The Office for National Statistics said 29% of mothers worked full-time at the end of last year, up from 23% in 1996, driven by a growth in full-time working generally.

If you’re unemployed and have been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) for more than six months, you could receive a support package worth up to £2,000 to help you start your own business. The New Enterprise Allowance scheme is to be expanded with the aim of creating up to 40,000 new businesses over the next two years according to a new Government announcement.

“Who these days expects to be working for the same employer until they retire?” This was the question that I was asked when I started working life a little under 15 years ago. In that time the question has changed into “Who expects to be working for only one employer, possibly at the same time, until they retire?”. For it is likely that the working generation now may find themselves either by choice or by necessity working for a number of businesses.
