Craftyhobbies started life as an online shop 5 years ago and I have had a high street shop for 3 and half years now. I sell card making embellishments and papers etc, haberdashery, wool, lace and ribbon. I sell my ribbon by the metre , in pre cut lengths and in packs, ready made craft packs and job lots on line. I am happily married to my husband Pete who is also a director of our Company Baba Me. We have four Children, Seamus 18, Aine 14, Tiarnan 6 and Feidhlem 4. We live in a beautiful spot called Omeath which is right on the coastal peninsula between Dundalk and Newry, in Ireland. It is the sort of village where everyone knows each other.

New Grant to help unemployed  into business plus overhaul for businesslink.gov.uk

If you’re  unemployed and have been claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) for more than six months, you could receive a support package worth up to £2,000 to help you start your own business.  The New Enterprise Allowance scheme is to be expanded with the aim of creating up to 40,000 new businesses over the next two years according to a new Government announcement.

Working from home – how do you switch off?

I used to work in an office and had a long commute. By the time I got home in the evenings, work seemed far away and I didn’t have to worry about it until the next day. When things were busy or stressful it was hard to stop thinking about work sometimes, but I found a way to switch off from it all and relax when I was at home.

Deciding on a career as a work at home mum
