Writing for a Living: It’s a Creative Boom

If you’re looking for creative ideas and inspiration, check out Creative Boom. The brainchild of Katy Cowan, founder and director of Staffordshire PR firm Boomerang PR, the online magazine and network hub aims to support freelancers, enterpreneurs and small to medium-sized businesses throughout the UK’s creative industries.

Launched in July 2009, the website, which is already getting an overwhelming response, has been designed and built by Boomerang’s own creative team. During the development of the site, Boomerang consulted its followers on Twitter, along with a range of its clients, to see how Creative Boom should work. It was clear from the start that the creative industries were crying out for an online resource where they could meet and greet, find new business and showcase their work.

Creative Boom is open to everyone, including photographers, journalists, PR practitioners, writers, web developers, designers, artists, architects, publishers, marketing agencies and digital experts. The magazine wants to cause a creative boom, helping individuals and firms to grow and make their business a success.

Have you got an interesting story? Creative Boom publishes all sorts of news from client wins and company successes to projects that are making the rest of the creative industry sit up and take notice. Simply email a press release to news@creativeboom.co.uk.
