A Scottish based Mumpreneur raised more than £560 for Comic relief this weekend thanks to her clever and generous social media antics. Safe Dreams, the company behind the latest and safest baby bedtime essential, the Cot Wrap, offered to make a donation every time a new Facebook user ‘liked’ their Facebook page. The company gained an incredible 850 Facebook fans throughout the night.
Founder and inventor of the Cot Wrap, the breathable alternative to the standard cot bumper, Louise Guinda, said “To begin with, we pledged 50p for each new Facebook fan, but as the night wore on and after watching the tragic scenes on TV, I decided to raise this to £1.”
She added: “Safe Dreams was invented to protect babies and keep them safe and comforted so supporting Comic Relief seemed like a natural fit for the company. We are delighted by the support and amazed by the impact of social media. There was a snowball effect, new fans were asking their friends to like us and at one point we were gaining over 20 new fans per minute.”
