Easter Holiday Ideas: Willows Farm Village near St Albans

If you’re looking for a fun day out, try Willows Farm Village near St Albans, Hertfordshire this Easter. The Easter Eggstravaganza event  takes place 9th – 25th April 2011.

Children can hop on board mini-JCB diggers and tractors in the new JCB Young Drivers Zone from Saturday 9th April. Equipped with traffic lights, a ramp, tunnel and fuelling station, the child-sized track is a fun activity for youngsters to pedal around.

Andrew Wolfe, farmer at Willows says: “I can’t wait to unveil our JCB Young Drivers Zone to the public this year. I’ve seen one in action before and I know the children here will love driving their diggers around the miniature construction site.

“We’ve had a busy few months getting ready for the launch of the new activity. Before we laid down the new surface we buried a time capsule under the course and then built a new track made of recycled tyres. We’ve marked up the roads, installed traffic lights, a ramp and tunnel to make it an area the kids will love to play in.”

Also new for Easter 2011 is the Rabbit Racers sit on ride, where children self power their own racer by swinging the handlebars from side to side.

A raft of Easter-themed events will be taking place, including the Easter Bunny who will take children on an Easter egg hunt in Willows Easter garden, with a chocolate treat for all participants and Willows Bunny Hunt with a free prize for every child who finds the 12 cut out bunnies hidden around the farm village.

In addition to the Easter fun there is a full programme of Children’s Shows, Adventure Play and animals to see including Sheep Racing and Daft Duck Trials, with Bunny Bop sing-a-long entertainment and Woolly Jumpers indoor play barn.
