15 July 2011 7 Comments

Very few people ever enter the Shadow Woods, for these woods are like no others. Hidden deep within them is the Gateway to the Shadow Realm – a dark and chaotic world where all kinds of gruesome creatures live…

Tomboy and aspiring stuntwoman, Sophie, learns on her tenth birthday that she is the

Guardian of a magic gateway to the mysterious Shadow Woods. Now, she must outwit the

mischievous creatures who live there and stop them from wreaking havoc in our world.

Offering a great alternative to books about fairies, this exciting new 6 book character-led series is for 7+ girls who love action! Cool and brave, taekwondo fighting Sophie, is not afraid to go on exciting new adventures, as she tackles the mysterious unknown and tries to save the world.

This fantastic new series is the first collaboration for both bestselling and critically acclaimed authors Linda Chapman and Lee Weatherly.

Linda Chapman was inspired to write her first story while nannying for a pony-mad seven-year old and has since written more than a hundred children’s books. She is also a qualified teacher with a PhD in Education.

Lee Weatherly grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. An award-winning children’s author who has written over forty books, she lives in Hampshire England with her husband and cat. Lee is also a gifted writing coach and regularly runs workshop courses.
