5 Family Friendly Working Ideas

With the festive season around the corner and the children well and truly settled back into school life, you may be wondering how you could bring in some extra money and working around your family.

There are many ideas of  that are family friendly and here are our top 5.

  1. Childminder. The best types of family friendly working is one where you are home based and means you can look after your own children too.  If you are interested in becoming a childminder, you will need to register with Ofsted and get a CRB check. There are also courses you can take in areas like First aid and an introduction to childminding to help you set up.
  2. Online Shop. This can take some time an effort to start and build up but is a great way to earn money even when you are not actively working. Drop shipping is a low cost option if you haven’t got any products to sell or alternatively you can sell your own products such as crafts, clothing or baked items or buy in stock.
  3. Drop Shipping.Rather than outlaying a large amount of money on stock, if you want to start an online shop or earn money from selling on sites like eBay, drop shipping is a great low cost way to start selling products and can give you a wider range of products to offer.
  4. Ironing. Do you enjoy ironing? If you are unlike me and do then this is a great family friendly working idea. It fits in well with your family, there is no real large outlay as most homes have an iron and is a great service to offer to other working parents.
  5. Virtual Assistant. Have you a background as a PA or receptionist? Even if you haven’t this is a great family friendly working idea as you can schedule in your hours of work around your family commitments. You can offer support services such as social media, email management and marketing, phone answering, book keeping, anything you enjoy and can use to support others in business can be offered as a service.
