For many people with children, becoming self-employed offers the means to balance career with family responsibilities. What’s more, running a business via a franchise offers the flexibility of working for yourself with the additional, valuable support of an established brand.
It’s no surprise, therefore, that franchising is a popular industry for many parents, in particular with the number of women in the industry increasing steadily over the past five years. One of the most effective ways to find out more about franchising and its career opportunities is to meet franchise business face to face. Visitors to The National Franchise Exhibition, taking place on the 22 & 23 February at the NEC in Birmingham, and The British & International Franchise Exhibition on 15 & 16 March at Olympia, London will have the opportunity to do just that.
The two events will include many franchise businesses covering sectors in food and drink to home improvement, property and travel – there is something to suit everyone and their budget. Exhibitors include McDonald’s, Anytime Fitness, Doggies Day Out, Papa John’s, ABC Photography, Calli’s Corner, Expense Reduction Analysts, Go Cruise and plenty more.
Visitors can have full confidence in all businesses showcased at these exhibitions as both are supported by the British Franchise Association (bfa) and so only feature companies that have met the association’s code of ethics.
There will also be a full conference programme including free seminars covering all aspects of franchising, from an introductory guide to how to obtain business finance. At The National Franchise Exhibition, Fiona Wood, Founder of Naturally Cool Kids, will be hosting a session on how to start your own business and share her own personal experiences.
Aaron Chattereley, Co-Founder of Feelunique.com, will deliver sessions at The British & International Franchise Exhibition giving an insight in to his business, which has grown to become Europe’s largest online beauty retailer.
The award winning Creation Station has once again teamed up with the organisers of the two events to help make a visit even easier for those who have a busy family lifestyle. The Children’s Activity Centre allows children to enjoy fun craft experiences with a family member, whilst the budding franchisee can take a look round prospective businesses at their leisure.
The Children’s Activity Centre is free, and children and parents can drop in throughout the day as well as have the chance to speak with The Creation Station about its own award-winning franchise packages.
The National Franchise Exhibition and The British & International Franchise Exhibition open from 10am each day, closing at 5pm on Friday and 4pm on Saturday.
