Campaigning group Valuing Maternity is highlighting that women should have the right to breastfeed at work, even in Parliament after Jo Swinson MP wanted to bring her newborn baby to a vote in the Houses of Parliament. Jo Swinson MP questioned the rule in Parliament that you are not allowed to walk through the voting lobby with a baby before she went on maternity leave. She says, “There has been a change that women who are breastfeeding can be nodded through. But I think when you are perfectly capable of walking through the lobby holding a small baby, I think there would be a better way of just allowing that. But parliament moves slowly.”
