Watch our video where foodie Kerstin Rodgers cooks up delicious and healthy camping treats

Make the most of this season’s cooking apples and watch food blogger Kerstin Rodgers cook up a delicious baked apples dessert, with hints of cinnamon, brandy and nutmeg. Whilst the apples are baking, watch as Kerstin throws together a simple but tantalizing pear and blue cheese salad, all made with fresh, sun ripened fruits, straight from …

What can I do mum? Mum, I’m bored?
If that sounds like your house this week, set the kids to work! The older your children get, the more able they are to help spread the load over the holidays. Ask your child to help make lunch and you may get more moans. Show them a recipe and say, “Do you want to try making this?” and you may find that lunch is made for you!

If you’re dreading the holidays and wondering what to do with the kids, why not have a baking morning?
My kids love to bake. Start with a packet mix if you are unconfident, and you’ll soon see everyone’s skills grow. Look for cooking classes for kids too: there are more springing up. I’ve signed D up to learn how to make Whoopie Pies during the Easter Holidays!
Cooking with kids has been shown to help them learn to try new foods. I’ve got a book about food and children coming out …

If you’re hot in the kitchen there are lots of ideas for your own business. Before you get out the pans, register with your local authority. You will have to meet hygiene standards: your local authority should be able to provide you with a ‘food safety management pack’, and will come round and inspect your premises periodically. See the Food Standards Agency booklet, “Starting up – your first steps to running a Catering Business”. If you love to cook but are in need of inspiration, how about:

Pick a selection of fruit and cut into small pieces. K can help cut using a ‘safe …

If you’re not a baker, but the kids want to cook, we’ve created some really good croissants and pain au chocolat over the summer holidays using Jus-Rol ready to bake packs.
The packs come in the chilled food section at the supermarket. Just tear to open and unroll the pastry. It’s fun to see the way the dough bursts out of the pack. Even K, 3, can roll up his own croissant, and as it just takes around 10 minutes to bake he can wait for the results too.
The pastries taste …

Business presentations can have many pitfalls but a well-crafted presentation put together with the audience in mind can have a massive impact on your sales success.
Here are my top tips to help you avoid the pitfall and make more sales at the end of your presentation:
