Who is Reuben Singh?

At just 19, he set up and ran a successful chain of fashion retail stores called Miss Attitude. In only a few years, this young man had stores in hundreds of UK towns and cities.

This successful venture saw him listed in The Guinness Book of Records as the youngest self-made millionaire. He went on to work as a government advisor.

His skill set

  •  A hard worker

Mr Singh’s parents were successful business owners. If he had wanted to, he could have lived the life of luxury and coasted through life. Instead, the young Reuben worked hard. He started travelling with his mother on business trips at the age of 12. By the time he was 17, he was running the sales department for his parents while still studying for his A-levels.

  •  Willing to be hands on

Reuben took a hand’s on approach. Rather than just relying on book learning, he went out and did things. For example, with his mother’s support, he cut deals for the family business from an early age.

  • Built on what he knew

When he was old enough, Mr Singh used what he already knew to start his first business. He entered a field that he was already familiar with through working in his parent’s company.

  •  Happy to start small

Reuben started small, but as soon as he was sure the business model was sound, he expanded. Using what he had learnt from his first business, he was able to replicate that success in other markets. Today, he runs several companies.
