How much could you earn if you were PAID for cleaning up after the kids?

In a busy household, a lot of time is spent doing chores. In fact, End of tenancy cleaning can reveal that parents spend approximately 1,455 minutes PER WEEK doing everything from cooking to emptying bins. That’s an ENTIRE DAY spent sorting, sweeping, and sanitising.

To find out how long parents spend doing chores per week, the survey asked 3,446 respondents to estimate the number of minutes spent doing everything from gardening to ironing.

The results reveal on average parents spend the most amount of time cooking, at 263 minutes per week (approximately 38 minutes per day), followed by the weekly food shop (112 minutes) and washing up (110 minutes).

Lower down the list are chores like changing sheets/towels and wiping down surfaces/appliances, at 57 and 54 minutes, respectively. While busy parents typically get just under one hour per week, uninterrupted, to do any home decorating.

To find out how much parents could earn from chores, End of tenancy cleaning took the average cleaner hourly rate in every city in England and multiplied it by 24 (the average hours spent doing chores) which resulted in an average earning of £218.50 PER WEEK for parents across England. This sum equates to an average £874 per month and £10,488 per year.
